Mike626, welcome to the board. Spend some time reading all the camper web sites, the more you know the better off you will be. I am sure you have a great looking truck but be advised it is not a great choice for campers. Fortunately for you it sounds like your needs for space are modest, that is a good thing since your truck has a very limited payload capacity. Having a 25 grand budget for the camper and the accessories needed might work with some campers, others will require 5000 more. Take a look at the Northstar Laredo, the smaller Lance models, the small Adventure models and maybe a Northern Light camper. Make the weight of the camper and how it works for truck the top priority. Camper layout and general looks should be second and finally price. There is dealer in Stanton on beach blvd that can help you with Lance or Northstar, speak with Jeff. Galaxy in Ontario sells Lance and David has forgotten more about campers than most sales people have ever learned plus he can expertly set up your truck with
Tork lift accessories. When it comes to campers my preference would be new. Unfortunately truck campers have a propensity to leak when they are not well taken care of. The introduction of water into places it does not belong will cause great harm to your investment. Water damage is often not discovered till it is too late or is discovered and hidden in order to sell to the unsuspecting buyer. Once you have the appropriate knowledge I would suggest you look for a new, non slide short bed camper, my recommendation would be the Northstar Laredo. Google Truck Camper Adventures for Mikes take on his Laredo.
Couple things I'd like to note...
1. You really need to paragraph your comments, your post is very hard to read.....please??
2. You seem to have a fixation with Tork lift camper stuff. There are other, just as secure systems available at a lesser cost. They are nice and they are absurdely expensive as well.
3. All RV's will leak, not just TC's. Has to do with flexing and heating (expansion) and cod (contraction) of dissimilar materials. Easy answer is, of course maintenance yearly.
