Hey all at the Truck Camper community!

I'm new (duh), and am seeking guidance from experienced truck camperers so that I may be enlightened.

Okay, so here's my question: In your (anyone's) experience will an el Camino be able to sport a truck camper? I'm talking light-weight.

I very much doubt it. For one thing, what size bed does the El Camino have? Even assuming a payload large enough to support a camper, most campers made for short-bed pickups are made for a 6' bed (you'd also have to be concerned with width).

The second thing to be concerned about is payload of the El Camino...do you have any information telling you what this figure is?

You'd probably be better off towing a very light-weight trailer of some kind...perhaps a small tent trailer or something along the line of a small A-Liner or teardrop. But, here, again, you need to know what the El Camino's tow rating is.
