How many of you have installed some kind of a lock box and where inside your camper? Something for locking up valuables or firearms that can easily/quickly accessible if need be. Thanx for any ideas. Adam

I know my Open Range just about any FEC key will open both dead bolt and door lock .
I believe my truck is more secure than my camper, so I would put the lock box inside the truck. |

My handgun is usually on the seat next to me when I'm going anywhere and when I'm camping, it's on my belt in it's holster.
I carry little cash and use CC's for everything. Last year I went to Montana with a 20 in my wallet and when I got home, the 20 was still there.... I see no need to lock things away. Besides, come in my unit uninvited and you may be staring at the business end of a 45 ACP Kimber ot an N Frame 44 Smith. |

I have the same concerns, I use my truck camper for fishing trips mostly, and am away from the camper for long stretches.
I found an old cash box with a good lock, that was inside a large safe I bought, and installed it under the dining bench, attaching it with large bolts through the camper side. I secure my important items inside the box when I leave for the day to fish. This is not very convenient for easy access but is fine for securing items for days at a time. I mounted the box up high in the cabinet and boxed it in with the same paneling as the rest of the camper, not readily visible. So far so good no problems with break ins. |

My camper is mainly gonna be used as a beach camper, maybe one or two camping trips a year. I carry everyday, but obviously when I'm on the beach I don't have my gun on my, but still have it with me. Having a lock box in the camper to be able to lock stuff in is gonna be a must!
