I am buying a new ford f150 8 foot long box truck and have an older 8 foot camper. I know the camper will fit inside the box with the tail gate up with a normal tail gate. But i was thinking of getting the ford step up tailgate with this rig, but noticed the tail gate is about 2 -2 1/2 inches thick ( into the box ) .Can i still put this tail gate up. I know you can take the hand pole off the tail gate but it still looks like it would rub on the camper. Dealer has no long boxes in on lot with or without this feature so i could measure it.
