I have purchased a Lance 855 S TC. I would like input on what is the best Truck to haul it.
Wet weight is 3178. It has 1 slide out. I am looking at a Ford F250 V 10 6.8 liter. Crew Cab 2003, keep getting fluctuating answers about the best truck.
You are always gonna get different advice about which truck, camper, bread, beer or whatever, I personally am a Ford man, And I also like duallys. Therefore I have an F350 Ford dually. I like them for the stability. Even if I had a Chevy it would be a dually, so look around and just pick what truck suits you best. Start with brand and go from there. JMO

Check the truck's GVWR, add your passenger and gear weights to the camper weight to confirm that the truck can handle all. I went for an F-350 but an F-250 with air bags might cover it.
I think that model is designed for short bed trucks, HD one's. The key is understanding what GVWR and GVCWR is. I would be very careful with a 250, you would be better served with a 350 and make sure the tires are fresh and are E rated. The gas motor will allow far more payload than a diesel but you will suffer a little at the gas station. I have owned several Fords, maybe that's why I just bought a new GMC.
