I just bought an F-350 and an Arctic Fox 811. I've only driven it home from the dealer and I'll be taking it out next weekend for the first time. The dealership told me that I have to remove the tailgate to put the camper in, and so I did, but it looks to me like I can just lay the tailgate down and put the camper in, as the floor is all on the same plane. Does anyone put their camper in their truck with the tailgate down and still attached to the truck? Any advice in input on this will be appreciated.

I can't do it but I have seen trucks with the tailgate down and not removed. Try it.

Have done so on 2 different truck/camper setups. Works fine. Just remember to keep your camper forward where it belongs. Do not leave a gap between the cab and camper. Bad things can happen if the camper slams forward.

Remember the tailgate is payload weight. You could remove it and have that much more capacity available for gear and supplies - or that much less load on your truck.
