I am looking at campers and there seems to be 3 groups. Walmart brand, Lance, and Bigfoot/Northern Lite. I would love to have Bigfoot or Northern Lite but it's out of my budget. On the this forum Lance seems to be a very popular brand. With my budget ($4,000-$6,000) am looking at mid 90s to early 2000 models. How are they for problems. ie leaks, rot etc...? Are there things to look for when checking out a used camper? I have a Dodge 3500 SRW diesel with an 8' box. Will most of the models fit it?

Thanks
Doug

Sounds like you're really looking for "cheapest."

Because I pointed out that Torklift's were pricey does not mean I was looking for the cheapest tiedowns. Torklifts are at least twice as much as the other brands but I have ordered them anyways because I want quality. I am also getting the springs as I have read they are worth the extra $200. Thanks for your help Linda.

I purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram Diesel SRW with the intentions of also buying a camper. I will read the forums for a while before asking about a camper but I would like to get some tie downs installed right away so I am prepared when the right camper becomes available. I do a fair amount of logging road travel with a little 4x4 off road driving. What are the options for tie downs? Is there one system/brand that is considered the best?

Thanks
Doug
