Was on a trip and had to buy a new vehicle to continue. Ended up the dealer had a new 2018 F-150 reg cab w/ heavy duty payload package on it. Sounds perfect until we tried to put our slide in pop top camper on it and the only way we can go down the road is with a 2" ratchet strap over the top in the front ounce we crank the top down. Happiejacs or Torklift make nothing to go on this vehicle. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

Will probably fab front tie downs after this trip. Just surprised nobody seams concerned with putting a slide in on a new Ford.

I'm kind of surprised it fit right in. I know the cabs are taller on the new fords and do are the bed rails. I've read a few times where people have had to put multiple sheets of plywood underneath the camper to get the clearance height. |
