Hey guys. I'm new to this site and new to truck campers. I just had a couple questions for you vets. I just recently picked up a nice 8' skamper camper and need to wire it in. I am going to use my stock 7 way at the bumper to utilize my charge line. Now I do plan on towing my boat later this summer so I need a y connector. As it sits I've just got my three wires out of my camper with no end, so do I really want to wire a 7 way pole on camper, then buy a 7 way pole y, then connect adapter to convert into 4 way for boat. Seems a liitle overkill seeing I don't have signal lights on camper, just running lights and charge line. And I just need a flat 4 for boat. Do they make a y connector sporting a female 7 and a female 4 instead of two sevens. I hope this makes sense. I have a hard time typing what I'm trying to say. Any advice would be appreciated.

They make a y adapter for a flat boat connector. Do you have a round to flat adapter for your seven way for your truck? if so just get the y adapter, wire your camper to it. and plug your boat to the other side of the Y. If you dont have the seven way to flat adapter you may have to buy one. My Chevy came with one. I think I said what I am thinking. I believe most auto parts stores sell the y flat plug adapters.

I think you said you do not need the tail lights with that camper so make your charge come from the tail light wire on the Y that goes to the camper., the only problem might be if it draws to much for that fuse to handle.
