Looking for suggestions for a wireless rear view camera on my Wolf Creek camper.

hi , i have a back up camera on my truck and works fine for backing up camper, screen alittle small but does the job. also makes hooking up trailer easier too. bought mine at advance auto parts for around $60.00 .

Perrysee, do you recall what brand your back-up camera is? Where does the display go? Is it wireless or wired?

I just mounted a Tadi Brothers 7 inch monitor and wireless camera on my TC. So far, I'm very happy - i wire3d it to the clearance lights on the TC so it comes on any time I want it, not just in reverse. There is a little flickering in the monitor, but it hasn't been a problem so fat, and that's probably caused by interference with something else close by, and it only happens when I'm driving down the road.

Does you truck have a backup camera? I have heard of people getting just the camera, and installing it on their camper, and wiring it to the existing truck wiring.

I have a Garmin BC30, it's a wireless camera that uses my GPS as the display. I was cautious about wireless but it works pretty good although the image is a bit too wide-angle. It's hard to see very far behind you. Good for slow backing up but not much use for eyeballing traffic behind you... although the mirrors work pretty good for that.

MY truck has a factory rear camera in the tailgate, but the tailgate is removed for the TC. So, I added a brandmotion rear camera on the license plate. I replaced my factory rearview mirror with the brandmotion rearview mirror/monitor (~$360), so as to not interfere with the factory rear view camera setup when tailgate is on.

Also added a front camera with a switch so I can turn on any time I want. If the truck is in reverse and I hit the switch, I get split screen (front & back). With the truck in reverse, and the switch off, I get a full rear view.

Cameras were $200 each installed.

It's a great setup!

I researched wireless cameras and bought a pkg from Camecho out of Lexington Ky which included a 7" monitor with power supply,and a wireless 12/24 volt camera. I installed the camera above our camper door and fed a supply of 12 volts from our outside door light thru a 3 way waterproof switch. Before leaving I turn on our outside light and use the 3 way to turn off power to the outside light and give power to the camera. The screen is set up on it's stand under our radio and plugs into a 12 volt lighter style supply. It took quite a few adjustments to get the camera elevation where I wanted as the receiver shows a grid as to length from the rear of the camper. The night vison is very good and have not had any problems since the install in May of this year.Total cost of this was under 100$ while other suppliers were 2 to3 hundred $ for something similar.

Sounds like a good deal. I got a Furrion for a Christmas present from my wife so that is what I have. Works great. Nice to have that 'see behind' the camper when pulling the quads or merging on the Interstate.
