We leave our rig pulled in year round. In the warmer months it so we are not for every packing the foods that go in the fridge back and forth from the house. As well I alsways have a few spare cold beers in the camper if I run out when at home ( grin)
In the winter we leave it plugged in ( fridge off) to keep the batteries charged. A low battery in the cold winter weather will die prematurely, where a full charge battery will be just fine in the cold weather.

QUOTE(Bob55 @ Jul 17 2015, 02:13 AM)
Hi, My local Truck dealer has told me never buy a truck camper because it can tip over because it's top heavy and is dangerous. I can see on a single axle truck but not on a dually truck. Have you ever heard of a camper tipping over?

                                                                                    Thanks, Bob

Your truck dealer is a truck dealer and knows squat about every type of camper on the market.
My Northern Lite 8-11 has a very low centre of gravity because of its fibreglass construction. The three liquid tanks are in the floor and against the truck cab wall. Genatrator storage compartment is truck bed level, the batteries are just above that, and inline with the propane tanks which would be the top of the bed rail.
There is nothing besides a couple of cupboards and the fridge freezer that are above the roof of the truck.
Nothing top heavy here.

I have a 2018 Northern Lite 8-11 camper which with the back deck that NL puts on their new rigs now I had to add a 48" extension to haul my CanAm 1000 Commander XT.
I haul my SXS on a 12' long duel axel trailer with a rear ramp.
I had to put on a Torklift receiver hitch and a Torklift super truss exsention so I could safely haul my SXS on the trailer. There isn't much movement in the hitch extension but the trailer still bounce on logging roads.
I also have a single axel trailer that I haul my snowmobiles on which when loaded bounces around a lot when I hit frost heaves on the Hwys in the winter.
