Hello,
I currently have a Chev 6.0 with 8ft bed carrying a 2001 Lance 1010 and towing a 17' Alumacraft boat with a 100 h.p. Mariner. The truck has 190,00+ miles on it and runs  and pulls great. I'm averaging approximately 10-11 mpg. I am looking to upgrade to a newer truck and camper.  I am currently looking at a Ford F250 with a 6.2 and 6 3/4 bed.  Will the Ford 6.2 be equivalent to the Chev 6.0 in power and mpg?  I am assuming it should be but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.  The Ford also has a 6 speed transmission. Thanks Randy

After further research, I found this and it was very helpful.

Hi, I am new to the forum and trying to get some information and opinions regarding a good hard side camper for my truck.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 quad cab long bed dually diesel 2wd. with a manual 5 speed trans.
I want to make sure I’m not looking at to large of units as I would like to pull my Jeep on a trailer behind it.
Any recommendations?

I would look at Lance, Arctic Fox, Northern Lite, Nu Camp. It seems like you have a good size truck. Check with a dealer and explain your concern and they will definitely steer you in the right direction. Good luck, you can't beat a truck camper.
