Type of Tiedowns used: none
Truck and Camper Setup: looking to buy

I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab and am totally confused what slide in will fit. I found a 1995 Fleetwood Angler - 1480lbs.... but it appears too long? The camper would end past the tailgate if gate left down?? sad.gif

Depends on the lenght of your bed. If you have a 6ft bed you most likely would only be able to haul a 6ft camper. If you have an 8ft bed I think you can haul up to a 11.5 ft. My bed on my truck is 8ft and i have a 9.5ft camper.

Type of Tiedowns used: Happijac w/ turnbuckles
Truck and Camper Setup: 2005 truck w/ 1986 Lance 840 / 9.6 (camper was a freebie). No airbags needed. I may do that in the future. The truck handles fine. Will be using happijack brackets and turn buckles.

I recently received a 1986 Lance, 480 / 9.6. I'm not sure what the weight of it is. My truck is a silverado 2500HD Duramax with a standard bed. With the tailgate down it measures something like 8' 4". The camper is built for an 8' bed so the camper hangs out about an extra 24". This changes the angle of the rear tiedowns. Some say those tiedowns are to keep the camper from bouncing up and down. The tiedown points on the camper its self may need to be changed. I think the important thing is how will your truck handle and ride. Will it sag in the back? Can you safely tiedown the camper? Maybe you will have to add airbags to the rear suspension. If you do this yourself you are looking at about $300.00 addition to your truck. This is just my experience and some things I considered when I got my camper. The camper was FREE so I was bound to make it work. I'm not sure it would have worked with a silverado 1500. So having the 2500 made it an easier decision. I hope this was helpful to you.
