I payed the big-bucks for Lithium and am pretty happy. I figure it cost me about an extra $500 CDN going from 2 big heavy Trojans to one light Lithium at half the rated capacity and a updated solar charger. Because the Lithium rides at a higher voltage (and stays there) and charges quicker, it has worked out just as well having the lower capacity. The $500 is about 5 fuel fills for me to put things in perspective ..... its worth it. biggrin.gif

We too have this problem occasionally when travelling. I think the wind blows the flame out and then it shuts down. We have even had that happen when parked in a windy spot. The fridges are not designed to be used while travelling even though most folks do leave them on.

I have a 04 Chev Dually Diesel carrying a 9.4 Bigfoot camper. It handles the camper very well and has lots of power. Having the duallies is no big deal as the truck fender is only about an inch wider than the camper and it makes a big difference in handling and safety. Myself - I wouldn't go over the GVW of the stock truck rather than trying to beef it up with air-bags, etc. I think the camper is around 3000lbs loaded but it probably would not have a problem with a boat trailer. The 2500 series Bigfoot camper are great. The 9.4 has the bathroom next to the "bedroom" making for a nice bright room in the back of the camper. We are very comfortable in it and have taken trips up to 6 months long with no problem. Pretty exciting - Good luck, eh? cool.gif

We usually zoom through Arizona on our way to and from Mexico but this year we will be spending 4 to 6 weeks in the deserts of southern Arizona spending more time in some of our favorite spots and exploring some new ones. We really like the desert around Organ Pipe Cactus NM and Tucson. We will come down in mid January.

We have a large truck & camper.

What are some of your favorite spots in southern Arizona?

Thanks ........ Dave
