Since we bought camper fridge has always been difficult to start. Had to stand there a long time holding the flame button at fridge. After a long time it would start. Have blown out all areas with compressor but still no luck. Any help appreciated. Fridge works well on electric and battery.

You may be getting some air. I would check all lines.

QUOTE(irvanne @ Aug 30 2008, 05:11 PM) Here is another option you may wish to try. Just after you turn your propane tanks on, turn your oven top burner on, count to five (5 seconds or so as nothing but air spews from the propane line at this point), push in the button as needed to spark ignite, if you don't feel comfortable usin the spark igniter, use an handheld lighter keeping the flame next to the burner... one you have ignition, allow to burn for one minute to allow all the air pockets in the gas line to escape. Then turn off stove. Now, turn to your Reefer and set to gas only, activate auto start, you will hear the click click click then swoosh as the reefer gas flame suddenly comes on. I do the very same procedure for the propane Gen set. Hope this helps. |

Here is something else you may try. unplug the wire conn. to your board, clean and reinstall. Also make sure the thermocouple is in the right pos. If it is a dometic, check to insure you have a good ground and, dometic has had a history of bad grounding on the board. |
