We just bought Starcraft M1150 truck camper and we are looking for a right truck. We can't find the manual on this camper online and we guess the dry weight is about 3200 pounds and we think wet wight would be around 4200 pounds. Today, we looked at an F 350, 4x4, 7.3 liter with payload capacity of 3500. We are assuming that it is not adequate for our camper. Which trucks would you recommend ? Appreciate your inputs!

If it were me I would opt for a F350 Dually. My Lance 1030 weighs about the same and that is the truck I have and with no modifications it handles the camper just fine. And welcome to the forum. smile.gif

Thank you very much for the reply. Do you think the F350, 7.3 liter would be able to handle the camper?

Is this truck a dually? If not I would think you would have to do some mods to handle it safely. I have never done any mods to my truck but if yours is a single tire then I am sure some of our members will chime in with suggestions. The only thing I did to my camper was to add swing out brackets to clear the fenders. As far as the 7.3 engine you should have no problems.
