We at the point in our camper quest that we have decided to buy a new truck to carry a new pop-up camper. We are looking at a 3/4 ton 4x4 double cab (crew cab) Ford or Chevy - Most Likely a diesel - should be plenty of truck for a pop-up.

For a Palomino SS-1240 a couple of questions:

1) Would it be better to buy a truck with a 6.6 foot bed or an 8 foot bed?

2) Are there any other dealer options that we should get on a new truck to better carry a pop-up?
