Favorite Truck Camper(s): had Lance, looking at Host
Type and Brand of Truck(s) Owned: '06 F-250 now looking at F-450
Type of Tiedowns used: Tork w/Fast
Truck and Camper Setup: Air bags, sway bar

I'll sell my F-250 soon and have pretty much decided on a Host Mammoth. I'm trying to decide between an F-350 or F-450. Both will be 4x4, DRW, long bed. Ford's specs say that the 350 actually carries a payload ~200# greater than the 450. Not sure if this is after the optional GVWR pack is purchased or not.

Why would I need an F-450 and get ~2mpg less? I guess the longer front axle makes for a tighter turning radius but that alone doesn't sell me. Thoughts?
