Have a 3/4 ton short bed truck. Had a Lance camper that I will be selling and upgrading to newer, better etc. The Lance weighed 2,300#, the Host I am purchasing is about 3,100# with options. Weighed the rear axle load of the truck and think traveling weight will be about 3,000-3,100 per wheel. Have upgraded the springs, shocks and truck has air bags.
Aluminum stock wheels can properly accommodate 245/R75/16 load range E with a capacity at max. tire pressure of 3,042# or with 265/R75/16 @ 3,417#. All being equal would go w/ the 265/75 but both routes increase the tire diameter. Estimate the gear increase with the smaller tires to be about 4% and with the 265/75 another 4% as the stock tires are 225/75. Any thoughts? |
