Hi Folks,
Looking for some feedback on my bike rack install. This camper and truck are new to us and wanted to make sure I'm not heading for trouble. The hitch extension is a 48" Torklift Cannon and our e-bikes are probably 100 lbs total. Everything fits as we can drop the steps with the bikes in place. I guess the question is whether you would feel comfortable running down the road with this set-up. Thanks, Jim Attached image(s) |

I'd give it the grab and wiggle test. Can't tell from the picture about ground clearance, be cautious of off road dry wash or grade changing driveway tail drag. Do you have a dust / rain cover? Otherwise looks "ready to wheel"!

I am really impressed with the Cannon hitch extension - it is rock solid with no movement at all. The rack will jostle around a bit and I need to get a camera installed so I can keep an eye on things. |

Truck is a 2019 Ford F350 CCLB SRW and hauling a AF990 camper. I fabed up an extension that was 43" in length and offset up at the end 6 1/2". I slide in the extension and secure with (2) 1/2 bolts that thread into the extension to keep it secure and then mount the bike rack (Thule T2 pro) and tighten that down and lock in place. We have two e bikes also that ride up there and can tilt rack down to lower the FL steps to gain entry into camper if need be. On longer trips I use a bike cover to keep the elements off the bikes and use some ratchet straps from the camper jacks to tighten it up. Looks good. |
