Right Ford for Mammoth?

I'll sell my F-250 soon and have pretty much decided on a Host Mammoth. I'm trying to decide between an F-350 or F-450. Both will be 4x4, DRW, long bed. Ford's specs say that the 350 actually carries a payload ~200# greater than the 450. Not sure if this is after the optional GVWR pack is purchased or not.
Why would I need an F-450 and get ~2mpg less? I guess the longer front axle makes for a tighter turning radius but that alone doesn't sell me. Thoughts? Tks, Bob |
