Truck Camper Forum _ Truck Camper Specs _ Honey Bee Slide in Camper

Posted by: Busybee1952 Sep 29 2013, 11:16 AM

I have just purchased an older Honey Bee slide in camper. It has stove, refrigerator, unsure of the size of the water tank and although there is a plate with specs on it, the weight is blank. Anybody have any idea how much the dry weight would be? Thanks.

Hi BusyBee, It has been awhile since you posted but if you can't find the dry weight of your camper you can always make a trip to the nearest CAT scale and weigh your truck empty and then loaded. Subtract the two and you've got the actual weight. -FB

I don't have a truck yet. I wanted to find out how heavy the camper is before I look for a truck. Anyway, I think I'm going to put it on a trailer and pull it.

Welcome to the Forum!!!... Hope you enjoy it here and hope you stay around and post often!!! smile.gif

That camper doesn't look like its a heavy camper.... It looks like my SunLite TC and I haul it with a F-150 and pull a pontoon boat when we go on a camping/fishing trip.... But, I'm in the market for a F-250 or F-350 diesel.

You mean mount the TC on a trailer and haul it around like that ?

Then you will have more weight because of the trailer... You will need a good size diesel truck to haul all of that around!.... Plus, you will have extra tires (trailer) to keep up with.... If you have the TC on a trailer, then you can't pull a boat, etc...... Then why don't you buy a travel trailer ?

If I was you, I would buy a diesel truck and haul the camper!.... Or, if the camper doesn't weigh all that much, then buy a 1/2 ton truck (gas) like a F-150 etc..etc... I have Firestone Airbags on my truck and they help a lot!

Here's a picture of my camper on a F-150 and pulling a pontoon boat... (My camper is similar to yours and isn't heavy at all and mine even has a bathroom)
