Hi to all our members,
Im Gary your moderator, back in June of 06 I kinda took over this forum and believe me it was in a mess, it had been hijacked by porn and all sorts of crap. I took on the challenge of trying to fix it and make it a nice little place to "talk camper". Since then I have had a few little problems but managed to get with Admin and get it all sorted out. Just want to say thank you to our little family and say welcome to all new members. We may not be the best forum on the web but hey 2nd aint bad. Hope to work with Admin and try to make it a little easier to post pics because believe it or not, I still cant get it right. I recently went through a divorce and the x took it all so I just went and bought an old camper and plan to fix it up as I camp in it. Gonna need some info on it as I go. Dont even know what brand it is but will go and get it this weekend and get busy with it.
Anyway, thanks to all for keeping it clean and being a part of the forum. Hope to trade info with each and every one of you as time goes on.
I live in Silver City New Mexico and we have some great camping here all year round so if anyone need info about the area just ask. I have been all over this area and do a lot of Jeeping so I can tell you about great spots to go.
Happy Camping, Gary biggrin.gif

Thank you Gary from another Gary. I am really new on the forum but enjoy it a lot. I have gotten some great info so far as I step into the TC community.

Sounds like you have been through some ruff times of late. Hoping that all the tomorrows have the wind at your back and the sun on your face.

Keep up the good forum work you are doing.

Thanks Gary for your hard work. I am new to the TC world and too this forum. Since I have joined I have made an effort to increase participation on the board, time will tell if people respond. Time is always needed to grow sites especially when you have more established competition. There was a time when SC Surf Fishing was small but they have grown and become a top site for CA fisherman to acquire current conditions from the surf to off shore as well as fresh water. Sorry to hear about your predicament, the song from Jerry Reed came to mind when I read your post, something about the gold and the shaft, guess who got the shaft. Keep your chin up, hopefully there will be better times in the future for you.

Thanks Gary, for all your hard work at keeping the forum going. In the nearly 4 years I've been a member, I've seen the 'board' hacked several times, usually by some kind of foreign commercial enterprise. I normally just wait a day or so & you get it straight again. I'm not usually real active on the forum tho I've been 'into' truck camping since the mid-1960s. We've owned at least a half dozen (maybe more) truck campers, from very basic cabovers to an '86/87 12.5' Real Lite with side entry door, & we've hauled 'em all over the CONUS & Alaska on trucks ranging from a half ton GMC V-6 to Ford Super Duty diesels. I'm 76 years of age & appreciate having a nice forum where a man (or woman) can come for information/advice. The Saturday after T'giving 2014, my old 29yr-old '85 Ford F250 diesel was totaled along with my Sun-Lite pop-up truck camper (no injuries thank goodness). We kept camping with a teardrop trailer that I'd built in 2006, & a small Starcraft pop-up trailer that I acquired. It's taken me this long to acquire another truck & camper combo since I couldn't afford new & didn't really want one of the newer, large TCs that entail either a larger truck or serious mods. I finally 'found' a '99 F-250 Super Duty Super Cab with 7.3 power stroke diesel, with low miles, & have since bought a 2003 Sun-Lite pop-up TC. I'm 'fitting' out the rig & figure it'll last us as long as we care (or are able) to camp & travel. At our ages we appreciate having an 'on-board' toilet, & the air conditioner is nice for summer outings. I see newer members such as Freespool & DA TOAD & I'm encouraged for our type of recreation. Thanks again Gary, & keep up the good work! I'll change my avatar as soon as I get the 'new' rig fitted out...

Good luck... I moderate on another non related forum and it's a PITA oftentimes.

One thing I'm wondering about on this site is my inability to post pictures. The dropdown shows a file exchange but when I open a file for upload, I get a message that says I don't have permission to post a picture. What gives with that?
