I just bought a used Starcraft camper. It's a small one for the compact pickups (10', 9") and it came with only 3 stabelizing jacks. Is there any reason why I can't add a fourth? It seems a little shaky with only 3.

I Have a 72' Amerigo with only 3 jacks and wonder the same thing. Why only three? I keep a close eye on the camper loading and unloading as I don't want the thing on top of me. I see no reason that you cannot add a jack. I am going to give it a whirl this spring. I thought about electric jacks but, I could have more tied up in the jacks than I have in the TC.
In y our case, the camper is probably not very heavy. Still, keep an eye on it when it is in the air. And find something like sawhorses to store it on. |

I also found out that Reico-Titan does sell 1 jack at a time. |

I am mechanically inclined and think I can bolt on these items for a lot less $. I would like the tie downs that go to the chassis and not the bed. Do I want the HappiJacs or the Torklifts or something else? Can you recommenend air bags? Are the Lance Air-Lift bags with "Jounce Bumpers" proprietary to Lance? Should I wire it direct or use the 10" foot pigtail that allows you to use the trailer plug for the camper as well as tow a trailer? That would seem to be the cleaner way with less splicing of the wires.
