Congrats on the new rig, it looks awesome. We just purchased our first TC after owning a popup and a toy hauler. We've taken it out once and so far so good.

I dig the quotes

Happy Camping

When I put the airbags on the truck, I was advised by the Arctic Fox rep to install an onboard tank and compressor. This works great because now when I take the camper out I don't have to take an air compressor with me for dirt bike tires etc. Also, when I put the camper on I don't have to pull up to my garage and use my air compressor to inflate the airbags on the truck. The wireless controller was a few hundred more but it was worth it to me. After spending so much on my truck and camper, I did'nt want them to cut into my dash to put the analog gauges in there.
Here are the links for the wireless system and the onborad air.

I just bought an F-350 and an Arctic Fox 811. I've only driven it home from the dealer and I'll be taking it out next weekend for the first time. The dealership told me that I have to remove the tailgate to put the camper in, and so I did, but it looks to me like I can just lay the tailgate down and put the camper in, as the floor is all on the same plane. Does anyone put their camper in their truck with the tailgate down and still attached to the truck? Any advice in input on this will be appreciated.

By the way, where are you located? I'm in SoCal and this is my first truck camper. I'm looking to put together a SoCal TC rally. If you're anywhere near SoCal and you're interested in that, please let me know.

There are definately deals to be made on truck campers. They are sold by salespeole who make commission and everyone needs to be happy at the end of the day. You don't need to steal it from them, but they don't need to make a home run off you either. I would suggest you ask for a discount and a good interest rate above all. If you have really great credit, you can get a rate as low as 5% and that's usually better than a deal on the camper (unless you're paying cash) I just puchased an Arctic Fox 811 and I got a great deal on it. It was a brand new 2012 that's been sitting on their lot since July. I paid almost $10,000 less than what they had it up for in July. A good rule of thumb is that the longer it sits there, the better deal you'll get. Good luck and keep me posted.

Thanks Aqualung, I just ordered them. I think they'll be great to keep the camper from swaying, but what about putting blocks or something else underneath it during storage, is this necessary or can the camper just sit in the jacks day in and day out with no harm to the jack motors or anything else?

I just bought my fist truck camper. When I am storing it off of my truck, should I leave all of the weight on the jacks or should I support it with some blocks or saw horses? It is an arctic fox 811 and it is around 3400 lbs. when in storage.
Thanks,
Anthony

Skyhammer is exactly right. I just bought a new 2012 F-350 with a back up camera and a 2012 Arctic Fox TC. Just go under the truck, follow the wire harness that goes between your tailgate and bed. After you unplug it, the tailgate will come of no problem. use a flathead screwdriver to release the tailgate cables, then put the tailgate at a 45 degree angle and the passenger side will pull straight back, and then lift the tailgate up to an 80 degre angle and slide the tailgate to the right. It is now off, my only recommendation is to have someone help you. The tailgate is extremely large, heavy and cumbersome. I took it off myself the first time, so I know it can be done, but it's not easy at all. Plus, if you drop it, I'll bet a new one is at least a grand or so.

I just bought my first truck camper. I have looked for a Rally in SoCal but I haven't found any. I though I'd try to organize one. Are there any truck campers out there interested in starting a TC Rally somewhere in SoCal?

Hey Phil, I just bought a truck camper and I'm looking to attend a Rally, or start one if necessary out in SoCal. Have you had any luck finding any out here, and where are you located?
