QUOTE(cldj40 @ Jan 16 2015, 10:26 AM) Just starting to look at Truck Campers, actually RVs in general to decide which way to go. I know with a travel trailer there are several ways to secure the travel trailer so that it cannot be stolen when you are away from it. Locks on wheels, several things for the hitch, etc. When you are truck camping and take the camper off the truck at the camp site what is to keep someone from loading it on their truck and driving away while you are away from camp? While I'm asking I have a second question concerning the overcab bed. Is there certain campers (styles or brands) that are easier to get in and out of than others? Thanks never take mine out at campground unless staying more then 4 days at a time, need to look at many campers to see which one works best for you to get in and out . all steps to upper bunk are alittle different. |

QUOTE(1mtnman @ Nov 20 2013, 11:23 AM) hi , i have a back up camera on my truck and works fine for backing up camper, screen alittle small but does the job. also makes hooking up trailer easier too. bought mine at advance auto parts for around $60.00 . |

hi, i used steel plates for my camper which was doing the same thing. i used 1/4 thick steel which might be a overkill buti wanted it to last. i put a plate on both sides of the plywood and went as big as i could . which worked out great no flexing now and better mounts for tie-downs . i did mine when restoring my camper which is a 1968 roamin chariot. if you need more info or pics will gladly email to you. |
