Hey guys,

I guess the question has been asked already a thousends of times but I canīt find a specific answer
to my truck.
I got a Dogde Ram 2500 from 2003, long box, 4 wheel drive with a payload of 2580 lbs. I know that the number canīt be raised officially. But I know some people suggest different suspension systems or other tires (which are very expansive) that increase the whole stability of your truck camper.

So my question now is: which is the best? smile.gif respectively which one give you a good price value rating for my special truck? Iīm probably getting a camper which is wet and fully loaded about 3000 lbs, including driver, passenger, aso..

Thanks for your help guys..

Keeping in mind that you will be overweight like many others that haul TC's do yourself a favor and don't waste your $$ on Timberens. I had the same truck and the Timbrens were like sticking blocks of wood between your frame and the suspension. I found the ass end of the truck squatted considerably when I put weight on it and at the time I was hauling a 5'r with it. I would look at air bags to allow you to level off the truck when you load it. I would also put on a Big Wig sway bar. Make sure you have E rated tires too.

I did a lot of reading before purchasing Sumo springs

https://www.supersprings.com/products/sumosprings/ to replace the bump stops on my F350. I did find in comparison there were the most complaints about Timbrens being too harsh, although there were comments that purchasing the softer model resolved the issue and factory did the exchange at no cost.

I had air bags on two previous trucks but did not like messing with adjusting the air pressure depending on the load And Torklift has a warning in their brochure that comes with Fast Guns about needing to run low air pressures.

As recall, these all come with a 30-day return period so they can be returned if not satisfied.

If your total payload will be 3,000 including people and fuel, you will be running relatively light for a TC. I am at that weight with my Hallmark pop-up loaded and wet.

3K pounds for a hard side is a fantasy weight and with no slides either. Sounds to me like the OP is using the 'fantasy sticker weight', not the actual weight. Time to add 1000-1500 pounds in.

What did you do?
I have only used one system, I imagine most have as hard to try out different things.
I put on air bags and am vary happy. Truck rides great unloaded and very solid loaded.
I had a lighter TC before the air bags and it swayed and sagged.
Now nothing.
Also, I took out the overload springs as they were in the way. Sitting on those made the ride stiff.
Minor differences brands to brand.
remember to mount the schrader valves where you can access them with the camper on.
