Full Version: newbie to truck campers.
Hi all, I'm new to the slide in camper world but started educating myself recently and decided on a Lance Model 815 (6 ft. bed). I'm thinking of a used one in good cond. If anyone knows of any for sale I'd appreciate it. I'm near Asheville, NC Thanks in advance and maybe I'll see you on the road this summer. Tom 6son60@bellsouth.net

look on craigslist. used truck campers are very popular right now. it took me about 10 months to find one in the right shape for the right price. if you dont jump on them when you find one the first person to come look at it will buy it i lost out on 2 of them because i couldnt get ahold of the seller in time good luck

Thanks Romper Stomper for the great advice. I listened and jumped on a nearly new '06 Lance 815 yesterday. Made a low but reasonable offer and he took it.
Now for another question(s) : Will I need air bags and sway bar on an '09 GMC 2500 ? Camper weighs 2000 lbs ? Also I'm towing a Thule 6.5 x 12 motorcycle trailer, loaded weight 4500 lbs. Would you recommend a class V hitch and extention ?
