Mike, if I were you, I would not get a camper that is heavier than your truck can handle safely. I have a Ford F250 crew cab, super duty, and I purchased the lance lite truck camper. The truck could handle more weight, but safety is paramount with me.

Good luck

Mike,
Even without knowing more detail of your truck it is most likely your truck is NOT rated to handle this payload. Get the GVWR from the inside drivers door, subtract the trucks actaul weight (loaded with pass. and fuel and this will give you an available payload.

The bottom line is you should not violate the manufactures GVWR of your vehicle. Unfortunately you can not change a vehicles GVWR. Many camper salesmen will tell you this can be increased with air bags, shocks or other items, but the fact is these items will improve handling, but not increase GVWR.

GVWR is limited for specific reasons one of which is the ability to STOP safely!
The most payload capable Dodge passenger vehicle is a SLT, DRW, 4X4, Regular Cab, With a Hemi and it is payload rated at 4600lbs. The Quad Cab and the Cummins add weight that will reduce this payload.

Also, Dodge further defines what amount of this available payload can be placed in the trucks cargo area, CWR - Cargo Weight Rating, if you have this most capable Dodge, SLT, DRW, 4X4, Regular Cab, With a Hemi, the CWR is 3600lbs.

Hope I have provided something here that helps.
