I bought a 1992 Fleetwood Elkhorn. I am going around tightening loose screws and in some places, like the jack supports, it is squeezing out a putty type caulk. What kind of caulk is this and where can I get it? Is it the same as bedding compound for a boat?

It is putty tape. used to be common, most manufacturers now us ea product like proflex RV. On an older camper that putty tape can start to let water in, especially around jack brackets.
With jack supports, I would remove them, thoroughly clean them & use Sikaflex 221 under them.

Thanks Paul, It looks like I have a lot of work to do after this trip next week so I will take your advice. I still see the tape available out there. Should I forgo the tape for the windows also and stick with the Sikaflex everywhere?
