I am just purchasing a 2009 Lance 981. I drive an 2004 F-350 SRW Crew Cab King Ranch edition truck. The dealer is saying it is not too heavy for the truck. I plan on installing airbags. There is a part of me that does not believe the dealer. The camper weighs in at over 4000 lbs loaded. Is there anything more I should add to the truck?
Thanks, I am new to truck camping. My other camper is a 40ft Newell Coach. Jennifer

It sounds like a nice rig combinationg.
I would put airbags on as well....and make sure your tires are "E" load rage or greater.
This is where you would have a safety concern being a SRW truck.
Other than that you should be fine.

Don't forget to upgrade the valve stems to steel. I found out the hard way after having an inside dual go flat after it pushed the factory valve stem out. I have a 4000 lb + Arctic Fox on DRW truck rather than a SRW, just my choice.
Good Luck.
