I purchased this early model Vanguard camper for my 1958 Chevy Apache. I had to raise the bed 2" to accommodate the cab-over. A neighbour thought it was too heavy for my 1/2 ton longbox truck. I can't seem to find any information about this model or it's weight. The truck seemed to carry it well although I didn't go far. Any guesses on the weight? It's about 1" longer than the box and I can almost close the tailgate.

I'm also trying to figure out what's the best tie-downs to secure the camper for long trips on my stepside. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions are appreciated.
