Full Version: Camper is dying on me

Well my TC is nearly dead with the frame itself. everything else works, (a/c, water heater ect) but when i put the TC on the truck i can see the bowing on it. It bows so much its starting to crinkle the siding. This camper weighs in at 3200lbs dry. The body is always coming apart but what i noticed is that im guessing back in the late 70's they used all 2x4 frame construction. My guess is that why this camper is so darn heavy.
Has anyone taken upon themselfs and thought about building their own TC? I have this camper as for all the parts. I looked at some newer ones but for 16k+ i might as well buy a used fifth or travel trailer and get more space out of it.
But the idea of building one might be fun little hobby.
Anyone have any suggestions? like find another one or try to build one yourself? i like the slide out idea as well
Thanks
Nick

I'd like to build a ''slide-out'' for my camper.
