I was wondering if anyone has used a ''cover'' like this one?

''Truck Camper Cover''... From Northern Tool

I know a guy that just used a regular tarp over his for the winter, and when spring came.... He took it off and the ''regular tarp'' was causing a lot of ''condensation'' inside the camper.

Any help would be appreciated!

I am relatively new to truck campers so I don't have experience in this but I just purchased a fabric one that keeps out the rain but allows the moisture to escape. It maybe similar to what you are using. Up until a few weeks ago I had a sportfisherman that I had shrink wrapped for the winter, it had a vent in the front and in the rear of the poly and I used to crack the windows and hatches to let any moisture out. I also put 4 damp rid cannisters in it and never had any mold or moisture problems for the 8 years I had it. My friend however, didn't use the vents, crack the windows or add the damp rid and he always had mold inside and on the cushions in the spring. The campers can't be too much different than boats when it comes to winter storage.

Thanks for the reply!

I've never used one, but have been thinking about buying one.

Thanks for the link!

Yeah, That's a better price!.... I keep my camper under a carport, But sometimes I back a trailer under the camper to move it out, and leave it uncovered for weeks at a time.... That's the reason I need one.

Thanks!

I have used covers for years. I used ADCO covers from Camping World for the first three years. These covers were about $250.00 and lasted 1 year a piece. These covers come with a 2-year warranty but ADCO always had a reason or 2 not to replace them. I finally bought a CAL MARK cover about 3 years ago and have had no tears or holes. The fabric is made of the Sunbrella fabric that can withstand the California Sun. The cover is reinforced with 1” webbing to distribute the weight of the sides. This cover comes with a 6-year warranty. The success of having a cover last is to keep it tight by wrapping it with rope or webbing and also using clamps to keep the cover tight so the wind will not rub the cover against the camper, which causes the tearing. I have not used the cover from Northern tools but I hope this response will help in your decision.

Thanks for the reply!

WOW!....$250.00, and it only lasted a year.

I like the one in the link that BobC posted.... It had good reviews!

A 6-year warranty by CAL-MARK sounds great!.... Yeah, Your post has helped me to make my decision!..... I've never used one, and I sure ''won't buy'' the one from Northern Tool.

Thanks very much!
