Full Version: Question about Lance cabover struts

I am a newbie. We just bought a Lance 815 to go on our GMC truck. Dealer gave us a three-hour walk-through and I think I understand everything. But why do we not have cabover struts? Dealer said we don't need. Why? All the pictures of other trucks and campers show this tie-down thing called "Lance cabover struts" that goes from cabover down to attach to truck. Is it OK that the cabover is not attached to front of truck? We are taking our first trip tomorrow...would love an answer to this so I won't be nervous about it. I can call the dealer, I know, but I would like some input or advice from you experienced camper people. THANK YOU!
I'll try to add picture below!

I ordered some for mine; but they did not come in in time. I just drove 5000 miles without them and had no noticeable issues.

If you can secure the camper to the frame via bed, then you don't really need to use the cab over struts.
They are suppose to dampin galloping from the camper rocking in the bed. ( a little goes a long way at 65 mph ) If the camper is secure, you shouldn't get galloping.

My 1st truck our tiedowns were bed mounts and we REALLY needed the cab over struts. Now I have frame mounted tie downs - I have mounts and everything for my camper, I don't bother with them.
