I just bought a 1975 Dolphin Camper for my '77 F250...I've never owned a slide in before...Where & How do you hook up the batteries to the unit? There is an existing sub panel in the upper kitchen cabinet...I don't know what this is...also, there is some kind of elect relay or inverter or converter located in the bottom sink cabinet...I found the 120v outlet for shore power on the outside...but since I am boondocking without a generator (but I want to get one) I am needing my 12v system...hey, call me stupid, it's OK...I just don't get this yet...
thanks, Hank

i had a 76 honey that didnt have a place for a battery on the inside of the camper. there was a plug on the front to hook into the truck. i guess they expected you to run off the truck battery. my 74 kz is under the the table bench. youll just have to look in every cabnet to find were (if any) the hook up are or or supposed to be.

Those older campers were setup to run from a 12 Volt source. Usually you added a second battery in your truck and had an isolator that would allow your camper battery to charge when the engine was running and would not drain the trucks starting battery.
The converter in the camper was only intended to convert 120 VAC to 12 VDC for the 12 volt lighting and anything else 12 volt. There should be a circuit breaker box for the 120 VAC outlets and appliances, air conditioner. Maybe 2 or 3 house style breakers.
Hope that helps.
