Hey guys, I finally got my truck camper I've always wanted after some 20 years.
Lucked out and found a 1989 F-250 with 30,000 miles to tow it with.

The truck does just fine with just the camper. I have an event this weekend over 300 miles away and I need my boat also. My question is with the 351.

The camper weighs 1800lbs and the Mastercraft 3400lbs. I think the truck can handle the tongue and camper weight OK but I'm afraid I'll really be lacking in hp.

Any thoughts or experience

Thanks Keith

I would check all fluid levels including trans and rearend. Make sure coolant level is good and I don't see why it wouldnt make it as long as you dont dog it. I mean dont be in a hurry and have a good time.

How long is the camper. If it a 10 footer you should consider a Torklift super hitch if you are using an extender & the tongue weight is over 150 lbs. Towing anything over 1000 lbs with a TC on board, you should really consider adding electric trailer brakes.
