We have a Bigfoot 1500 truck camper that we purchased a couple of years ago. When we got it, we noticed that the 2 bumpers that are on the lower front portion of the camper had been removed. We were told that some of the tie down hardware (like our Happijacs) is in the way of the bumpers. We put a 4x4 in the truck bed against the headboard and put the camper against that. It just fits under the Happijac cross bar and keeps the camper away from bolt heads, etc.
Well, we just got back from FL and noticed that where the 4x4 touched the camper, the camper is now full of spider cracks! What is everyone else using between your camper and headboard? Do you think that these cracks will expand? Break apart? Can we put the old bumpers back on, but above the cross bar? Thanks! |
