I am looking at buying a camper for my 93 Dodge D250.

How big can I go and what improvements should I do to my truck before considering putting a camper on it.

I have towed a travel trailer before (26') and have airbags already.

I will be towing about 4500-5000 lbs of boat also.

Thanks

I would first consider the weight of the camper and what the GVWR is of your truck. Even with airbags and or helper springs, how will the weight effect the handling of your truck, will you be under powered, and most of all will you be able to stop in an emergency situation. I would choose the lightest camper possible and still have the eminities that you can live with. And remember whatever the weight of the camper is, you are gonna be adding more weight with water, food, chairs, people, bait and, well you get the picture. So I would say go as light as possible with as few mods as possible.
