Favorite Truck Camper(s): Lance
Type and Brand of Truck(s) Owned: GMC 3500HD 4WD
Type of Tiedowns used: Happijac
Truck and Camper Setup: Lance 950S

Drove to an adjoining parking lot to park the truck between 2 semi trailers and forgot to put the slide in. Needless to say, the camper is totalled.
Luckily, I was only 914 miles (13 hours, 40 minutes) away from home
Making for a rather unpleasant, expensive trip to the Laconia Bike week.
I just wanted to say, I can't tell you how much I've appreciated your helpfulness, knowledge, tips and experience. I won't be doing a truck camper again. dry.gif

So this is a case of smashing your thumb with a hammer and blaming the hammer???
Sorry you had a bad day.
Perhaps you should avoid slides altogether. I'd also suggest being careful with awnings, and anything that sticks out.

Also, beware of hammers, they hurt. My thumbnail is black right now after I smashed it with a hammer.

It's the learning curve on all types of RVs including truck campers that will get you every time. Can't tell you how many travel trailers and fifth wheels I worked on where folks cut too sharp after taking on fuel or all the times they forgot to check the air pressure in their tires and I had to rebuild wheel wells and floors.

My thought here is everything has an upside and a downside. Our only goal in life is to maximize the upsides and minimize the downsides.

Hope you have better luck in the future.

What the yellow 'Bozo' poles are for at fuel islands. So the people who don't know what their reaeview mirriors are for when they pull out and cut the wheel don't wipe out the pumps.

The 'Bozo' poles save the pumps and keep repair shops in business....lol

Never had a slide and don't need one, but then, I've never seen a pop up with a slide.

Air pressure... Isn't that what TPMS is for?
