Type of Tiedowns used: Need One
Truck and Camper Setup: I need a used Stablelift System for my Truck Camper & F150 4x4

I have a 1977 El Dorado camper, with a bathroom. The camper is a total length of 16 ft, was told it requires 8 ft truck bed.

I have a 1995 F-150 XLT half cab, does this truck camper weigh too much for the truck? Truck bed itself is only 6 feet 8 inches.

Since truck camper requires 8 foot truck bed, can I put my tail gate (22 inches) down and have the back of the truck camper sitting on that? Anyone ever tried this?

I am also looking for a used stable lift system, if anyone has one or knows of how to get one, I'd be interested.

There should be a tag somewhere on that camper (usually on the rear) that will state wieghts. For comparison, I have a 1969 Caveman 9.5 foot same overall as yours and its drywieght is 1800 lbs. I personally would not put it on a 1/2 ton, especially a shortbed as the center of gravity will be off. These are just my opinions. Find the wieght, do the math. Good luck.

In my many piles of junk I have a 1977 El Dorado Dealer manual ( for sale ) and I looked all over the brochures and layouts and didn't see any weights.
