I have an Arctic Fox 1140 with a large slide on one side. I used the camper about ten times last year, maybe for total of six weeks of camping.
Recently, I was closing the slide and it had a kind of twisting or warping action, so I stopped and looked inside at the rack/gear and noticed that the two wood screws on one of the rack/gear mounts were loose. Checked them and they are stripped. I think they are 3" x 3/16" lag screws. I would like to just put two larger diameter screws in place, but not sure how big they should be. Is a 3" x 3/8" screw too big? Or maybe I should put some filler in the hole. It's a pretty cramped spot. I could pre-drill a dowel and then glue it in. Any suggestions appreciated. I hope to have it fixed for a short eclipse trip. |
