I just purchased a 2000 Starcraft Popup camper and have a wiring question. I do not want the camper wired to my truck battery. I plan on having a separate battery for the camper and running the camper off a generator 99% of the time.
Since the camper will only require the running lights while traveling, what would be the easiest way to wire it? Can I just wire the camper plug to the truck light circuit for just the running lights?
Thanks

I would leave the wiring as it is and add the battery and an isolater. That way the camper will not drain your truck battery. Also that camper should be wired for a battery inside under the seat behind the converter/inverter. You should be able to plug right into your trailer connection under your rear bumper and I believe your Ford truck should have come with an isolater already built in and that would keep you from running your truck battery down.

Why not purchase a cable to hook to your trucks electrical. You can get a cable that wires the camper and your trailer from the truck.
